If you've started searching for a premature-ejaculation clinic in Manila, you've probably noticed the results are all over the map: premium urology practices, general men's-health clinics, aesthetic centres, and a long tail of places that treat "PE" as a bundle to be sold. They can't all be right for you, and some aren't right for anyone. This is a plain checklist for separating a genuine, evidence-based plan from a well-designed sales funnel — written by a clinic that, in the interest of full disclosure, does not sell PE treatment (more on that below).
Hummingbirds does not offer a premature-ejaculation treatment program, so we have nothing to sell you on this page. That's rather the point — we can give you the checklist without steering you toward our own package. What we do offer is a free, private self-check that screens for both PE and erectile dysfunction, and an honest consult that will point you to the right provider. Use the framework below with any clinic, including the ones that do treat PE.
1. Do they assess before they prescribe?
This is the single best test. Premature ejaculation isn't one thing — the right plan depends on whether it's lifelong (present since your first experiences) or acquired (a change from a previous normal), whether it happens every time or only situationally, and crucially whether an erection problem is part of the picture. Up to 40% of men with PE also have some erectile difficulty, and when ED is present, treating it first often fixes the timing. A clinic that reaches for a prescription or a package before sorting any of this out is selling a product, not solving a problem. (For the underlying detail, see our honest guide to premature ejaculation.)
2. Is there a named, licensed clinician?
You should be able to find out who is actually treating you — a real name, a PRC licence, a scope of practice. Anonymous "specialists," treatments delivered by untrained staff, or a brand with no clinician attached are all reasons to slow down. This is a health decision about a sensitive part of your body; the person guiding it should be identifiable and accountable.
3. Do they talk honestly about the evidence?
The genuinely evidence-supported options for PE are, broadly: behavioural techniques (stop–start, squeeze) and pelvic-floor training; topical anaesthetic sprays or creams; and clinician-supervised medication (dapoxetine, or off-label SSRIs). A trustworthy clinic will describe the trade-offs of each, tell you roughly how well they work, and admit their limits. A clinic that promises a permanent cure, guarantees a specific "time," or has exactly one answer for every patient is overselling.
4. Watch the cosmetic upsell
Some clinics — particularly aesthetic-urology practices — offer procedures like hyaluronic-acid glans fillers, scrotox, or penile girth/enlargement. These are cosmetic or desensitising procedures with their own separate (and debatable) rationale. The evidence that they treat premature ejaculation specifically is thin and inconsistent. There's nothing wrong with a clinic offering aesthetic services — the red flag is when a filler or injection is presented as the solution to a timing problem. If that happens, it's a strong signal to get a second opinion before you spend. (We go deeper in do injections or fillers actually help PE?.)
5. Is pricing transparent — before you pay?
You should be able to learn what an option costs before committing to it. Beware the "pay for a consultation to find out the price" structure, large upfront packages framed as the only option, or pressure to decide the same day. Transparent, per-item pricing is a marker of a clinic that expects to earn trust rather than extract a commitment.
6. Discretion and consent, handled properly
For an intimate concern, privacy isn't a luxury. Look for one-patient-at-a-time scheduling or a genuinely private setting, clear confidentiality practices, and a team that doesn't rush or shame you. How a clinic handles the conversation tells you a lot about how it will handle the care.
A quick scorecard
| Green flags | Red flags |
|---|---|
| Assessment first — sorts lifelong vs acquired, screens for ED | Prescribes or sells a package before assessing |
| Named, PRC-licensed clinician you can identify | Anonymous "specialists," care by untrained staff |
| Honest range of evidence-based options + their limits | "Permanent cure," guaranteed timing, one answer for all |
| Cosmetic procedures offered as cosmetic, not as PE cures | Filler / scrotox / enlargement pitched as the PE fix |
| Clear pricing quoted before you commit | Price hidden until after payment; same-day pressure |
Where to start — before you book anyone
The strongest position to walk into any clinic with is knowing what you're actually dealing with. Our free 3-minute self-check screens for both premature ejaculation (PEDT) and erectile dysfunction (IIEF-5), privately and with no name required. If it points to PE, you'll be able to ask the clinics above much sharper questions — and if it points to ED, that's something we can help with directly. Either way, you'll be choosing from knowledge instead of from a sales pitch.
